The Fives Oceanfront

 

We love Mexico. Direct flights, amazing culture, incredible food, and damn fine beaches.

We’ve been looking for longer than Ms. Hackendale probably would have wanted, to find “the place.” The place that had it all… no sprawling, all-inclusive Disney World of a resort. Close to an airport to make it easy. A place that’s kept its small town feel. Restaurants with incredible local ingredients. Bars with endless supplies of tequilas who don’t give Jeremy the side-eye when he orders a Miami Vice (frozen of course). A beach that’s wide and soft and trails off into just that right color of blue. A hotel that matches our vibe (and our standards).

So basically, we’ve been looking for a unicorn. Enter The Fives Oceanfront.

Once all of you book your rooms the entirety of this lovely hotel is going to be almost entirely us. We pity the people who rent the few rooms we don’t. Seriously. We might have to pick up their bar tabs.

Are you an early riser with tons of energy? Kudos. If you’re on the hunt for adventure and eager to explore the local area in the mornings (or decide to stay an extra day), you’ve got a ton of options for fun things to do in, and just outside of, this little fishing village.

Snorkel or scuba in the 3rd largest coral reef in the world.

 

Explore one of the various Mayan ruins in the surrounding area.

Swim and snorkel underground at one of the stops on La Ruta de Cenotes.
